Shout Out to Beaumont

In looking at my traffic it appears the majority of viewers come from Beaumont (either Texas or Washington). I just wanted to leave a quick shout out to those viewers with a thanks. From the high numbers I can't help but be more curious about who it is that is there. Is it just MSN polling my site or is it real actual readers? Any other bloggers have the same phenomenon? Who is all from there? How did you find my site? Is there anything that you are looking for that I can help you with?

Lets have this be a global shout out as well! Anyone who visits the blog leave a comment about where your from (if you are ok with leaving that info- it can be vague) how you found the site, and any questions or thoughts that you have about anxiety. I already know some of the readers but you can leave it again if you want for others to see. We'll open it up as a message board. Even if you don't suffer from anxiety I still want to get to know more about my readers.

I'll start. I am from Salt Lake City, Utah and I have social anxiety. I have had it since high school and have only diagnosed it since October of 2006. I have made lots of progress but have a long way to go still. I really enjoy helping others that are going through the same or similar things that I have gone through.

Don't be shy! (Well I guess thats a horrible thing to say especially if people have social anxiety like I do.) If you want to be shy thats fine, but I still would love to see some comments from others. :)

Hey Aimée,

It's Ben. I love your blog! I still read it pretty much every day--when you post every day, that is; and it's really fun to take a journey inside your mind. Thanks for your detailed thoughts and feelings. :)

Ben,

I am sorry for not posting every day. I wish I could but sometimes I am so busy at work that I don't find enough time to research a worthy topic and I don't want to just put in boring filler posts, so I just wait till I have the time. I will try to do better. :)

Hey Seth,
Welcome to the blog. I am sorry to hear that my family scared you, they do have that effect, especially with all 8 siblings and parents in tow. I don't think I ever brought a guy home that wasn't scared to death of my Dad. I guess we will have to settle for friends. I am glad you are an avid reader and I hope you continue to come back.

P.S. Seth, if you were referring to Tyler I am sure he appreciates it :)

Hello! I found you from BlogCatalog, it was a random click. I think I have anxiety, especially when I'm around with 'loud' people or new things. I guess it because I like to be by myself or with close friends.

I'm Rachel - Westminster, CO. I found your blog through a search on bloglines. General anxiety issues, with panic attacks aplenty. Also, SAD.

Hi!
I'm a flat-lander from the midwest (Illinois!) and am a long, long time sufferer from panic disorder and generalized anxiety. I blog as well about alot of those issues. My comment to anyone with panic/anxiety is to get help anyway you can. I had a heart attack at 41 and I think part of the reason was stress and my panic disorder. Having heart issues and panic is a terrible combination and landed me in the ER alot -- but I'm on medication and have learned alot of coping mechanisms. First and foremost, take care of yourself!! Great blog -- I'll be back. You can check out mine as well. I did one recently on panic attacks that you might identify with.
Take care,
Lara

Hello Nessa, Rachel and Lara Angelina! I am so glad you responded.

Nessa- how do you feel when you are around "loud" people or groups? What does your mind and or body do?

Rachel- Colorado is beautiful! What kind of symptoms do you have? How often do you have panic attacks? What are your triggers?

Lara- I am also originally from the Midwest- Cleveland, Ohio baby! Man I miss the green from out there. What kind of medication are you on? What are your trigger situations that cause your panic attacks?

I hope you all enjoy the blog and come back soon. If there is anything you want to learn more about let me know.

Hi Aimée,

It looks like I'm the first UK resident to reply. Thanks for including my blog in your neighborhoods. Now I have checked out your blog, I'll be be a regular visitor and perhaps post comments from time to time.

I hope that your anxiety problems lessen. Best wishes...

I'm Mike from Rochester, NY. I stop by almost every day to see what's new, and occasionally comment. I've had Social Anxiety Disorder for about 4-5 years now, although I rarely have attacks anymore.

I actually stumbled across Aimee's blog by accident - I was updating my own blog and hit that "Next Blog" link at the top of the page!

Hello Robert- I actually just looked at your blog for the first time a few days ago. I saw it from Blog Catalog as a related blog and thought it was very cool to see a family member's outlook on the issue. I hope that your wife is getting better.

Hi Mike! Every time I click the Next Blog button it always takes me to a blog written in a different language! I'm glad you stopped on mine :) I'm sure you have a lot of knowledge that we can benefit from since you have managed your anxiety so well.

This is so cool :)

Hi. I'm from Dallas, Texas (nowhere near Beaumont...that's near Houston). I do stop by every other day or so. You have a good blog working here.

Can't remember how I found you. Maybe you found me first? Dunno.

I did find you first Debaser. Thanks for the compliment, and your blog is awesome too!

Hi Aimée,

It's Dave here, from Toronto Canada. Like you, I've had SA since I was a kid but didn't know it. I finally figured it out about 2-1/2 years back after my anxiety red-lined upon the death of my Mom. I've since lost my business and am now trying to effect a career change. Not an easy task. I started my blog around January 2006.

I came to your blog after you posted to mine. I enjoy your writing and am inspired by your success in life. You're also quite beautiful.

Take care and keep up the good work!

Dave

Dave, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. That in addition to the loss of your job is a lot to deal with. I am inspired by your consistent positive attitude. Thanks for your support and compliments. I hope things turn around for the better for you soon.

Hey! *waves*

I haven't been by in a while, sometimes I get kicked out of your site repeatedly back to a dell search page.

I work in Beaumont, TX and live about 15 miles away in Nederland. Maybe I'm the one who keeps showing up on your traffic since I keep hitting the back and refresh buttons so I can continue to read your posts. Oddly enough, today it's not giving me any trouble.

Hi, I'm Ann, from PEI Canada. I can't remember exactly how I found your site, but I think it was a link through a link from one of the facebook pages I frequent. I suffer from generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, depression, and social phobias. If people ask, I don't mind telling them, I find it's easier to talk to them about stuff after that (or at least to know who can and can't handle the truth), but I don't just blurt the truth out to everyone.
