Joe Barry Mc Donagh from ezine articles says this,
"Nearly every function of the body is monitored and pegged to the efficient flow of water through our system. Water transports hormones, chemical messengers, and nutrients to vital organs of the body. When we don't keep our bodies well-hydrated, they may react with a variety of signals such as anxiety, which we would never think are related to our poor drinking habits."
And only for The Reality of Anxiety readers, here is where I got my information about the dangers of caffeine for anxiety suffers, and a diet to help eliminate anxiety.

I posted over on the other site...just wanted to say, thank you for posting this, I figured this out on my own this past Fall. Of course with anxiety I thought that I had diabetes or something else even AFTER having blood work done. I carry a huge mug with me and feel the best when I drink water....
I also gave up caffeine and chocolate. I'm actually allergic to it since childhood but you know how adults can be. My anxiety is a lot less after making these changes....
A friend I work with did just that, stopped drinking all caffeine. What she does to help her drink more water is this: she purchased a 40oz Klean Kanteen and makes sure to drink the whole amount within her work day. Sometimes she even fills it back up! Just an easier way to get your daily water fill!
Caffeine definitely affects your anxiety levels.
Funny. I just wrote about this on my new blog www.letstalkanxiety.com. There's no doubt caffeine affects your anxiety. Apparently, certain video games do as well -_-
I have also written an article on this exact same subject about how diet can affect panic attacks. It is definitely true that caffeine acts as a stimulant and therefore heightens the senses that can bring on a panic attack.
Good info B.T.W
I can't do caffeine, it's instant anxiety. While the panic attacks FEEL like I'm going to die, if I did Red Bull or the like I probably would die of anxiety. Worst bit is being accidentally given non-decaff and feeling the anxiety build: E-D-G-Y.
People have been for unecessary conselling not realising their heavy use of caffeine was the cause.
Caffeine can definitely raise your anxiety levels, but it is temporary. Caffeine does not stay in the body for days, but for hours. With many people with anxiety, they are advised not to consume caffeine because it does make one feel jittery.
Alternative way drink organic fruits juice.
