Nine years ago I developed anxiety and it intensely manifested into flying anxiety. One of the things I absolutely love most is to travel to exotic, far away places, so I feel deeply pained that I haven't been able to do so in so long. This has been a serious issue for me and has caused me much dissatisfaction, sadness, and frustration in my life.

6 years ago I took a short flight to Mexico. I ended up having a severe anxiety attack on the plane and I had no medication. Breathing, self-talk, and engaging in conversation w/ my companion allowed me to get through the experience. When I was ready to come home the airline staff would not let me get on the place because I was too anxious. They rescheduled me for the following day. The next day, my aunt (a nurse) gave me diazepam a few hours before the flight and it allowed me to stay calm & asleep for most of the return flight.

I am done with feeling crippled by my anxiety and am ready to explore and travel again. I am terrified of getting on a plane, but I will be starting with baby steps. My boyfriend & I have booked a short flight to San Fransisco (1hr 28 min. flight). It was the shortest flight I could procure from Long Beach. I am trying to remain positive and prepare all of my literature, iPod with music I love, audio books, & guided relaxation. I will also bring a positive movie I love to keep me distracted, and of course all of my Xanax! I need to expect the best--instead of the worst as anxiety tends to trick our mind to do. I will conquer this! :)Julienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147889412798634304.post-45170852604581370692009-10-14T18:36:46.586-06:002009-10-14T18:36:46.586-06:00hi great to post my photo here thanks so much and ...hi great to post my photo here thanks so much and enjoy your trip if you need photographer in the future please i`m here marcosvasconcelosphotographer . marcosvasconcelos8@gmail.comMarcos Vasconcelos Photographyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17781203527381331202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147889412798634304.post-47249266478746271182009-08-23T07:25:18.821-06:002009-08-23T07:25:18.821-06:00I truly believe that going out to some place far a...I truly believe that going out to some place far away from home with family and friends helps a lot in decreasing or eliminating stress.Markhttp://www.stretchmark411.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147889412798634304.post-58545043270266826262009-08-18T18:48:05.019-06:002009-08-18T18:48:05.019-06:00Thanks Anxiety Girl! People worry too much about the future and the past, which actually is the main cause of one's anxiety. If you just focus on a particular moment of your life, you'll be able to relax more and have a healthier outlook in life. :)Beth Banninghttp://www.focusedattention.com/articles/How_to_Stop_Worrying.htm?nashnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147889412798634304.post-33789664372094901282009-07-31T21:37:24.201-06:002009-07-31T21:37:24.201-06:00Awesome posting this summer & I like the new l...Awesome posting this summer & I like the new look of your site!
